Hi guy's I've just acquired a new Camry hybrid and I'm curious as to what issues I can look forward to as I pile the miles on it. 

I am slightly anal about caring for my cars as I'm a high mileage driver.  Thanks in advance.  Stephen

Hi Stephen, If you are a high mileage driver then you’ve got all the more reason to make sure that you have the car serviced as per the book. If not then you can invalidate the warranty, and jeopardize your and other road users safety. If not looked after you can look forward to issues no matter what car you drive.

Hi Bernard, I service my cars religiously as and when required using Genuine manufacturer's parts. I was just enquiring about any issues that the Camry might throw up down the line. Cars have issues despite regular servicing as I'm sure you know.

Hi Stephen, I think you going to be pleasantly surprised by the service it gives, that is if you Toyota hybrid is as good as other Toyota hybrids.

As you probably aware Toyotas first full production hybrid was the Prius, and Prius has been a popular car for taxi type uses over the last 20 years. Your Camry will have a lot of Prius DNA.  You already on top of servicing and we’ll know that is critical.  The only things I can think of is 1) rear discs rusting, calliper seizing, due to lack of use. If your hybrid is typical of other Toyota hybrids, initial braking is done through the hybrid motor, only in the last few mph does the standard braking system kick in. Hence the lack of use. 2) Cat converter thefts are rife in certain parts of uk, maybe different in Ireland. Prius and Auris particularly targeted, mainly because the cat is under the car and easily accessible. Some Toyotas have the cat more in the engine bay, behind the engine.          
You will have to come back regularly and tell us how you going on, ie mpg etc.

The thrust of my reply Stephen was coloured by the comment “I am slightly anal about caring for my cars” hence the tone of my reply.
