Fixed Price Repairs - ?

Hi all,

Generic question about the Fixed-Price Repair policy.

There used to be a portion of the toyota Uk website where one could enter your reg, then see a list of all of fixed price repairs.

Is this a uk wide policy (Fixed Price Repairs) or is this dealership dependant?

How can I check?

Example -

One dealership says that a new AGM Battery is £140 (approx & without fitting).

Another says it should fall under the fixed price repair policy @ £125.

I checked with other dealerships - and it seems that only after I (specifically) ask about "Fixed Price Repair" was I  told about the lower rate. So it seems that they do run it, but only if mentioned? Does this sound right?

I have tried five separate franchise's throughout England.

Whats the story here???

If those Battery prices are recent quotes they both are very good for an AGM Battery. I paid £125 3.5 years ago for the wife’s 2010 Auris Hybrid.

Is your Auris a Hybrid?.

The info is there however you have to go through the process of making a booking, enter your location and then you should see repair optionsimage.thumb.png.ae54e4e94bccf7193915ace95f4a5acf.png

I would like the community to know that Devon Aygo's post above should be shared widely.

I called up 12 different dealerships amongst multiple franchises & they all quoted me a variant of £140.11+ for the Battery itself & and roughly a further £10 for fitting.

Toyota's Fixed Price Repairs are best checked first (as Devon has shown above) before asking for any quotes.

If done that way, the total cost of an AGM Battery is only (part & labour £125 all in.

It seems the "Fixed Price Repairs" list has been deliberately removed from the toyota website, so as to be hard to access/find.

The only way I have discovered - is the way Devon has shared above.

Even over the telephone - asking the service desk or parts department for a fixed price Battery replacement - they are totally unaware that its quoted as a Fixed Price Repair @ £125 all in!!! Or they are aware and are keeping it from customers.

They had no clue.

Ko, if it’s on the website how can it have been removed.?

Do the on-website prices include VAT?

£140 is a really good price and £10 for fitting is very good deal too.  12V AGM Battery from Yuassa /OEM  is still the best. The closest one is Yellow top optima but many American forums said it does not last as long as the OEM.  Don't buy cheap regular acid Battery for your own safety. It is also designed for deep discharged cycle, unlike regular 12V Pb Battery

Had my 12 volt Battery on my Auris Hybrid replaced last year. Quoted £140 fitted. When paid charged £125.00 Same with optifit passenger wiper blade, quoted £14 and when paid £7, with wiper stated had service plan.

Yeah I don't get why Toyota hide all that stuff now - It was so much clearer and easier to access that information before, when they even listed service schedules and what was included in each service and how all the different types of service compared. Trying to find that stuff now is impossible unless you log in, and then it only shows for the car registered to you from what I can see...

Yes, you should login or register your car in Toyota website Toyota.co.uk or any country you live. You can check the whole history of service and recall of the cars including quote for maintenance or any service.  Toyota USA is the easiest, just put the FIN number and you can check any car history and service history based on Toyota website.
