PHEV Charging Schedules

Am I missing something? I can only seem to schedule a one off scheduled charge from the My T app. Is that right? Anyone found a way to set up repeat or multiple schedules? Also, the only way I could found to delete one I set was to edit it to finish in the next five minutes and let the time pass. It doesn't seem that functional.

I'm sure from looking at the manual you can set multiple and repeat schedules from within the car so I'll give that a go when I get around to it but assumed the same would be possible remotely.

You have to set up each day separately there is no copy and paste or repeat functionality.  I tried setting in the car but found it easier to use the app.  So far it’s worked absolutely as programmed.  I use the option to set the start time and let the car sort out when to charge.  Edit is the only way I’ve found to change the daily schedule but as I tend to leave it on the same schedule it’s not bothered me too much unless I want to start earlier otherwise I leave it as is.

When there was no repeat option in the app, I thought that's what I'd have to do, i.e. set up one for each day. But I can't seem to add more than one, and I'm assuming from the test I then wanted to delete, that one the scheduled time passes, it would clear that one anyway so you have to have 365 for the year.

In the manual for setting in the car, it says you can set a repeat but it reads as that option is only available where you set a charge start time, rather than the ready time (although the picture shows the repeat on a ready time too!). Please bear in mind I haven't tried this myself yet so don't read too much into that

Example of my current MyT charging screen, awaiting charge overnight.

I’ve had another think about this overnight, as you do sometimes.  Upshot is I think I may have eventually resorted to using the car schedule feature which allows you to set each day fairly quickly. This then appeared in the MyT app and could be edited there.

Ah, so if you set it in the car it updates in the app and you can edit the next event there. I'm going to try it later. It would be handy to set it all fully in the app but no real hardship.

The technology feels all a bit disjointed with different ways of controlling and configuring the car. Some on the My Toyota portal, some on the My T app, some on the multimedia system and some on the MID. It feels like it could be a bit more integrated.

@nlee, agree it is very much a work in progress.  I think developed for HEV type cars and now being updated for the PHEV type cars, lots of missing data that would be useful which is available at the end of a trip in the car, EV ratio, driving efficiency etc., fingers crossed it will be continuously developed.

This is the screen in the MyT app that I use to edit a schedule for a particular day if required.  Obviously this gives the start or finish time as options as I’ve said I use the finish time.

@ernieb Set it up in the car over the weekend and it's so much easier that way. For me, I only put one schedule in and once I'd selected time the next screen gave me an option to tick all the days to repeat it on. This was no difference whether I selected start time or finish time. The only difference was for finish time it asked if I wanted to set A/C schedule.

I also went down this tortuous route and eventually found setting a regular charging schedule easy in the car and impossible from the App. I am starting a new topic on software updatres.
