Yaris 2012 boot issue

Hi guys,

Recently I changed my rear stop lights and registration lights, however my boot stopped working, it does close but when I press the open button it doesnt work, could it be an electrical issue? It was working perfectly fine before I changed all the lights.

Do the rear lights still work? Fuse?

After I replaced, everything is fine, I checked the current though boot cables and it's there, I'm thinking it's the latch, but how did it break? Is it breakable?

You changed the number plate lights, there is the clue

The boot release and plate lights are part of the same sub hardness you have more than likely pulled on a connector - unplug and plug it back in also check the earth point on the tailgate
