Ice Upgrade.

All of you know that standard toyota audio is crap, so if you want to upgrade to a quality Speakers please read this post. I've recently bought a component speaker system for my E10 from ebay(for 24 quid plus 14 quid delivery!). The Speakers are made by Pyle and are 6.5 " in diameter. The power rating is decent as well @ 200WRMS or 400W PMPO. It took me a couple of hours to install, as I needed to re do all the wiring and install the crossovers as well.

The results were outstanding! Now I get crisp high sounds and low bass sounds from the front Speakers. Thats a n improvement on the old Sony Xplode system I've had in the car - that was a total piece of :ffs: .

I've also bought some infinity 6x9s (reference series) to go in the back. The overall sound quality is now improved and now I get heavy bass lines, like with a bass box without any distortion what so ever

And another thing it is worth sound deadening your car, before ugrading to quality Ice, otherwise you won't get full potential from your speakers.

Sound proofing can be bought on eBay as well - I've bought 2 rolls of 10m sound proofing and that was enouh to sound proof the whole car.

You be surprised how much soundproof matting you will need for a car.

When i did the boot install, i used Dynamat Extreme, some £20 per roll, and needed about 5 rolls, for the boot only. It depends on, how good a quality this matting is, and if it needs a second layer, but even so, there are alot of corners and joins to think about, so don't leave yourself short.

I'm running the Speakers off my head unit. It's a panasonic MP3 cd player - forgot the model. The internal amp is a 50watt (x 4) mosfet one. Gives you much better sound quality than the non mosfet amplifiers!

This will do me for a while. I'm planning on investing in a 4 channel amp soon, when the funds allow (or when uni starts again  ).
