It seems that my wife is right to be calling me an idiot for all these years, she's come home tonight and said "those lights look good", been out in the dark and true enough, they are working.

What a cheap, simple and effective addition.

Thing is though, I went out in the dark to see if the driver side one was working and I couldn't see it.

An idiot and blind.

Thank you preperationlaunch and flash22 for all your advice, sorry to have been wasting your time looking for a "fault" that didn't exist.

Mirror switch illumination next, be warned lol

They do fade up and down with the interior lights

the Mirror switch - do you have folding mirrors ? You need to pop out the trim the mirror switch is in and see what connector type you have as there are 3, 10, 16 (1 row of 11 pins) and the large 28 black plug, you need 2 extra pigtails and splice them into the headlamp level switch, I do have spare salvaged pigtails and/or new terminals if needed (will be random colours) or I can make up new pigtails, unless you want to stump up the £12 each from a main stealer
