Accessories for 65 plate Toyota Aygo

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi I'm Roger,

I have just bought a 65 plate Toyota Aygo and am trying to find the following items, without much success so far.............

1) Centre Armrest with deep storage box (no USB ports required)

2) Spacesaver spare wheel

I've looked on the Toyota Direct Parts  site but nothing shows up unfortunately!

If anyone has any ideas where these may be bought I would be most grateful (even secondhand if in good condition).

Many thanks

Hu Adrian,

Many thanks for your response to my post.

I have seen adverts by Ali Express for centre consoles, unfortunately each one indicated that they could not ship to my address!  This I suspect is because they are 'Alibaba' owned, which is a Chinese wholesale company, and ship in bulk, but not to consumers!

I will however follow your advice and look on FB Marketplace to see if I can find a spacesaver wheel there.

Thank you.

Toyota don't offer an armrest. However Peugeot do see HERE

If it helps, on the first gen cars (pre 2014) know few people fitted armrests and the cheapo chinese ones were a bit rubbish poor fit and broke, the official OEM ones as expected were a lot better.

As for a spare wheel, you could try Small Cars R Us, they a specialist breakers of Aygos, 107s/8s, C1s, so may be able to help, they in the West Midlands (Halesowen) so maybe near you.

Hi Puglet,

Many thanks for your response.

The armrest / storage box is required for a 65 plate Aygo, but images of the few that I have seen online appear to show them fitting into a 'D' shaped holder, whereas mine is circular!

Thanks for the suggestion about 'Small Cars R Us' - I have sent them a message, and am waiting to hear back.

Cheers

Hi 'Devon Aygo'

Many thanks for your input - most helpful.

I will follow up on both the Spacesaver Wheel, and the Peugeot armrest - many thanks.

The holder is circular but the armrest fits over that and hence is correctly D shaped.

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your helpful response.

Unfortunately some of the photos of the amrest show it fitting into a 'D' shaped holder, which is why I was somewhat sceptical about it fitting 'snugly' into my circular holder.

Perhaps this 'D'shaped fitment is for the previous Mk1 Aygo.

Best regards

Roger

Well the armrest I have fits perfectly to my 2020 Aygo, and fits over the rear section of the central console behind the handbrake.

Some adverts mention that area changed from 2018 models onwards?

Remember too that many adverts use generic photographs, so you see the same photograph for many different car models.

I am also searching for an armrest for a 2021 Aygo.
Dave, the one you have, you bought it at Peugeot ?
Would be nice if i can order one that is sure to fit.

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your helpful comment - I will check out the Peugeot armrest - thanks.

Any info on price at Peugeot by any chance ?   Let us know whenever you fit it to your car, Roger ? See if it fits perfectly for you too.

I currently have the Armster one but am going to change it for the Peugeot one. Why?

The Armster one is fixed and I find makes access to the handbrake restricted, but the Peugeot one (like the one I had on my Mk1) is hinged so you can hinge it out of the way between the seat backs when not in use as an armrest - just need to persuade the local Peugeot dealer that a 108 is the same as an Aygo :wallbash:

I called the local Peugeot dealer.

Part number is 1610763280.

Price, sales to consumer, is  164,59 euro, 21 percent tax not included.

Drilling not required, their documentation said.

Strange, because the document I downloaded for the Peugeot armrest shows drilling and cutting?

I didn't see it myself, it's just what they told me on the phone.
I asked if drilling is required..  First they said they didn't know, searched for a while and then said their documentation said in words :  drilling not required.

https://www.originalcarparts.com/citroen-c1-armrest-1610763280-1

I found it at this website now ..

An other website    >>

https://www.autofixa.com/1610763280/p0/

The side doesn't show drilled holes in it either, like other types do.

On a Holland website I see a weight of '11' for this thing.
11 gram is impossible so i guess it's 11 kg but what the hell ?  I would think it's around 400 gram, this thing.
If it really weighs 11 kg, did they put lead in it ?  Then it's more sure you don't need to drill.

Use the part number and 'arm rest' to search on Google. You wille see it many times and often also cheaper than the Peu dealer here.

Edit : an other website shows 2,18 kg as the weight for this thing.
Conclusion : for me it's too expensive anyway. I won't buy a 200 euro armrest + sending cost.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for posting the Peugeot 108 Centre Armrest document, which clearly shows it having to be both cut, and drilled, which is a bit odd as this is a fitment for both the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1, so one would have thought that any 'adaptation' to fit these cars would not be necessary!!!

Also, I noted that the document was dated 27/12/13, so does it maybe refer to the Mk 1 models?

I am not even sure that this part is very good value, especially if it is priced at €164.59 + UK Duty + UK VAT, when you see AliExpress below (which is a great price, but cannot ship to my address!)

N.B. Many of these armrests have a  'D' shaped cup holder mounting ( 2005-2013 therefore Mk 1?)

Google search for "centre armrest for 2015 Toyota Aygo" turned up....................

However, images of this Armrest / Centre Console for a Peugeot 208 (2013 - 2018) appear to show it fitting into a 'double cup holder' which is no good for the 'single cup holder' in the Aygo! image.png.382e727818d0252fb3d57f1a2c427ebf.png https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dual-Layer-Leather-2013-2018-Console-Storage/dp/B07K4Z6QQ7/ref=pd_sbs_5/262-4883447-1811559?pd_rd_w=RT4zs&pf_rd_p=b3232d54-1e37-435b-b370-81046eef630a&pf_rd_r=NXRXAYMNXVHB5ZD2YAQF&pd_rd_r=fc752d48-e1c1-4671-8ea4-3a152c46174d&pd_rd_wg=uMWjL&pd_rd_i=B07K4Z6QQ7&th=1

All of these 'variants' are very confusing, and give me very little confidence to buy any of them for my Aygo!!!!!

No for 2 reasons:

1) I fitted the genuine Peugeot/Citroen armrest to my Mk1 and this is totally different.

2) The document clearly says Peugeot 108, the Mark 1 was a Peugeot 107.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for putting me right.

Still confused though about the 'plethora' of offerings - all of which are supposedly OK, but I remain highly sceptical 🤔

Posted

Scepticism is not bad in this case.

Go to online shops where they sell armrests for the Aygo and you will read a lot of bad comments about not fitting, bad quality, different product than on photo, limiting the movement of the handbrake.

Buying just anything cheap has not proven to be a good solution for all of those people.

Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your comments.

I would just like to clear away the 'fog' and find an armrest / storage box, that will fit properly, and at a fair price - surely that shouldn't be so difficult!

Posted

I am sorry if maybe I confuse you.

I was looking for the same but concluded the original is too expensive unless maybe some of you confirm it fits perfectly.. and then still not for 200 euro.
From the other cheaper ones : i distrust it too much to risk ordering.
So I am going to spend my life at the moment without armrest.

I really hope you find the right one, enjoy it .. and let me know which one worked perfect for you 🙂
I don't have the car yet (postponed delivery a bit) and don't even know what cupholder I will have.

Still searching for a tool to make the load not so deep in the trunk. Maybe will make one myself. I think it doesn't exist premade.

I've tried this armrest on eBay which is supposed to be compatible but it doesn't fit my 2020 Aygo.

The base is round and fits in the rear ashtray - but the armrest is too wide to fit between the backrest adjusters so it won't fit between the seats!

That's another option ruled out.
