Issue with new map update 6.18.0H

Hello, recently the new update of the map for Touch 2 and Go came out .. I started to update, going through all the steps..to the 6th module .. on the 6th module - navigation reached 2% and wrote error 1004, then asked to remove flash drive and reboot the system. From now on, every time you insert the flash drive, it says that the software is not for this system. Toyota did not know about such a problem and almost can not help .. I tried a new file download, formatting the flash drive at a low level, download to 6.17.0H .. Anyone with any idea? P.S. I do everything through the Toyota site .. I mean downloading the file and generating the code .. I've been updating this way for two years now ... but now I have no idea what it is.

Hi Anton, and welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

I cannot help you other then say others have got stuck doing something similar. Try doing a search on the forum.            
I remember some things like the usb stick need to be formatted on a windows pc rather then an Apple device, the size of the usb stick needs to be kept smallish. If you know how big the file is then get a usb that is just the next size up. Sorry that’s as much as I can recall, never had problems myself because the dealer always did it for me and my free update period was up I never bothered again as I prefer to use Waze on my smartphone.

Thanks for help. I'm using the same USB for these two years.. 16 GB and Fat32 windows formated.. so this is not the problem..

Is yours definitely the "H" version? MyToyota should offer only the correct version if you have registered and added you car there. I see you have a 2015 car - not sure when the H version became standard but it was optional on the pre-facelift (I had an "L" version as standard on my pre-facelift) and became standard at some point on the post facelift. The pic looks like a post facelift?

Can you check back on MyToyota -> estore -> Payment History and see if it was the "L" or "H" version you downloaded before (that worked)?

Thanks, but I have only options to download H version, which is correct version for Touch and Go 2.. Thanks again..

As above there was an L and an H version of  Touch and Go 2 but  if "H" is all MyToyota offers then presumably it is the right one. Guessing you tried starting over with the USB stick back in and seeing if it initiates the update again?

Thanks , again but if you can see on the picture that I've attached it says that 6.18.0.WH.. is not for my devices.. I'm pretty sure that update is H version, also that picture also confirm this.

Your car seems to be a LHD (left hand drive) as your dashboard is the opposite way round to mine. I’m a RHD in the UK with a Toyota Touch 2 with Go Plus. 
Where are you trying to download it from and where are you located?

What version is currently installed?

I have experienced the exact same issue. For me it first occurred with version 6.19.0L (spring 2022) and then again with version 6.20.0L (autumn 2022). The car displays that the new version is installed after the failed installation, but the maps are most likely not updated as the installation stops at 2% of the 6th module. When the next version is out in spring 2023, I'm going to try to unselect maps for all other countries but the country I live in to see if that will make the installation complete without the error.

Do you guys have any update how to debug and fix the crash?  I am always nervous when updating firmware.  It can result bricked device like my xps 9530 dell.
