Hi,

I want to install a dash cam in my Yaris with auto dimming mirror and TSS.

Do you know on which cable of the connectors i could get ground and ignition 12v?

Thanks

TBH use a fuse tap and run it from the fuse box up the A pillar and under the edge of the headlining be aware that the hardwire kits or Aux socket adapters usually drop the voltage to 5V, so you can't just cut the end off the lead

Thanks but i think i wont be able to close the fusebox if use a piggbyback fuse.

i wanted to take advantage of the TSS and autodimming mirror power close to the dash cam to power it.

I already have a 12v -5v convert just need to identify which cable i can use there

thanks

My dual camera is installed as Bob suggests. Will the mirror supply cable be of sufficient capacity to power a camera (through a suitable inline fuse, of course)? Does it really matter if the fusebox lid cannot be refitted? The cover from mine is carried in the glovebox, if needed for refernence.

I find it more convenient to use the available power in the rear view mirror.

it so close that it seems only logic to try and use it.

I saw a lot of posts on radar detector using mirror tap but none for the small yaris

Do not touch the TSS system voltage and current are monitored, the mirror will be on the Gauge supply (10 Amp)

the dash cam needs to be on its own FUSED supply - it's a 10-min job to route a cable and no need to mess with the TSS or the factory loom

any recommandation on fuse i should use then? which format (mini or micro) and maybe what accessory should i piggy back to?

Micro aka low profile mini iirc, a dash cam will pull <1 amp, the smallest fuse you can get is 5A in a micro/LP

What fuses to tap, do you want perm live or switched live ?
