Install cruise control Yaris 2017

Hello,
I bought a 2017 Toyota Yaris half a year ago, 1.5 petrol engine 110hp, 6 manual gearbox.
Lately I'm doing a couple of 4-5 hour trips a month and I'm interested in adding cruise control.
I have seen that most Yaris from that year onwards include it, but mine does not. I have asked Toyota Spain and they tell me that they can't add cruise control because it affects the safety of the vehicle.
Really?

Do you know if this model has the wiring already installed? I think I'm going to install it myself, if it's not too complicated.

You can add a stalk and see if it works, the 1.5 should have the programming for it

to add the stalk

disconnect the Battery, wait 15-20 mins before removing the airbag by using a flat ended tool through the hole in the bottom of the wheel - the airbag lifts out from the bottom edge

You usually can get the stalk the 2 screws and the plastic cover as a kit

the quality of the aftermarket stalks are hit and miss, if you can get a used Toyota one
