Clutch pedal creaks!

Hi all, I am a newbie to this forum, and a newbie to Avensis ownership being on my 10th day together with an 07 2.2 D4D est.

I am hoping there is a simple answer and therefore a simple fix also. When I press the clutch pedal I am hearing a creaking sound which seems like it is coming from the dash. It also creaks when I lift off the pedal although less so than when pressing down. I should add that this has only been noticeable for the last 2 or 3 days.

Thanking you all in advance

I don't know whether it's the same simple fix, but on my 06 Celica the clutch can similarly creak, and it just needs a squirt of grease underneath the rubber bellows on the rod that goes into the slave cylinder on the gearbox, they're fairly accessible, nothing more than that sorts it out, that's worth trying

quick question is that inside the car right at where the clutch is do u spray grease there or is it in the engine compartment area

On my model where it's a common problem it's in the engine bay the slave cylinder goes into the gearbox it's just about accessible you've got to spray under some rubber bellows as a rod goes in, id just get a can of spray grease with a nozzle Google it's location on your car and try and spray in it and also the selector mechanisms around it and where the pedals are too, that may well sort out your squeak easily.
