Heater not directing

Heater won't redirect...stuck on face forward...had new Battery fitted 3 weeks ago...also rear demister no longer works...checked fuse and seems OK...everything was working fine before ...now its gone cold I've only just noticed...its a 2007 d4d model...any suggestions please...

I think it would be worth disconnecting the 12v Battery - just removing the earth terminal should be fine. 

Wait 10 - 15 minutes, then refit the Battery terminal.  This is best done in a firm fashion, so as to best avoid voltage spikes that can cause oddball effects on some ECUs. (Was this the original problem, perhaps?  Hopefully).

You are attempting to reboot the car, in effect.

Tried disconnecting Battery..but only left it about a minute...was told 30 seconds...it had no effect...but I'll try for longer as you suggested...there was no problem before Battery was fitted....didnt notice at first...just the last couple of days tbh...I know it was working fine before...id would had noticed...just this last week it appears to have malfunctioned...only clue I have is new Battery 3 weeks ago..thanks anyhow...I'll try your suggestion

Firstly I would check for any fault codes logged with a scanner also I wonder if wiring plugs relays etc have been disturbed by fitting of the Battery check the relays are secure and or connecting plugs to fuse box.

did you fit the Battery yourself if not then I would go back to where you had it fitted and see what they say it is possible that they connected wrongly accidentally but highly unlikely as I would have expected damage to the ecu.

also it could be just coincidence that the rear screen heater has failed and maybe one of the servos that actuate the direction of the heater flaps unless they are controlled by cable.
