Now bear in mind I cannot hear top notes anymore..........

When I select reverse in my PHEV, I can hear something from the dash area.

Can members with younger hearing advise if there is a warning sound emitted when reverse selected?

🙂

Absolutely yes, it’s a speaker in the front of the car to warn people that the car is reversing.  It does the same when going forward but it’s at a lower level.  I think it’s loud in reverse because of the speaker location.  It’s there by law and is impossible to reduce or eliminate. It would have been better if there was a speaker in the rear so that the volume could be adjusted accordingly. Open the window it’s very weird, combination of Dr Who and Star Wars!

Thanks Ernie

Those years in a band and visiting pubs & clubs where ordering a pint could only be achieved by sign language are taking their toll 😂.
