Get the cheapest tires from retailer that give warranty.  It does not matter who sell it as long as it is manufactured within 6 months when you buy it.  Goodyear EGP2 is very comfortable/soft but grippy and responsive enough, not jarring like Dunlop.  It is not cheap though, I got the 17" for €64 2 years ago but now is about €10 more each.  I think there is no reason not to get PREMIUM tires because the installation price is always about the same €17.5 per wheel (installed and balanced).  It does not make sense buying cheap tires that wear much faster and uncomfortable but paying installation fee 1/2 of the tire price.

I am not sure why we do not have just M+S all seasons tires in UK/Ireland or western europe where snow is  a kind of mild and rare.  American style M+S tires are not as soft and noisy as winter tires but work fine in both winter and summer without the need of lateral patterns of winter tires.  They are like summer tires with some split on the tread and a bit softer with enough silica.

I have tried one of the very best all season tyres on my Auris and also the best one are fitted to my gf electric car and honestly these aren’t any good for efficient and comfortable drives. Good perhaps for low mileage drivers that drive very little and infrequently so doesn’t really matter how comfy or how efficient is the car as long as it’s safe and they can drive any weather it’s fine . , not for me though. I rather have a full winters again and proper summer tyres both types of which are way more comfortable that v shaped all season., this is not because of the rubber but because of the tyre carcass. , all specs are harder and feel like run flat xl tyres .
My dad and gf are happy with those, me not.

Had full set of 4 GoodYear egp 2 installed today  - 205/55/16 91V

Haven't driven much, yet and its too early to make any comments....First impressions as soon as Ingot in the car, they feel more comfortable, and are definitely more quieter than the stock Continentals

I have not yet found a comfortable winter or all seasons tires as comfortable as summer tires in Europe.  Probably because all of them has V shape or kind of lateral patterns to be eligible to have 3mountain peaks symbol.  I understand that those pattern is really important when we have thick snow like in Midwest, Canada, Austria, or Skandinavia.  But not most of the western part of Europe. I think some countries like Nederland don't even have winter tires requirements.

I meant comfort as less harsh over bumps and potholes, otherwise these v shaped all season and winters are actually quieter than typical summer tyres with straight lines.

The Dunlop Sport All Season and the Vredestein Quatrac 5 aren't directional. This is quite rare nowadays with both winter and all-season tyres.

I've used the Quatrac 5 and the previous Quatrac 3, and if anything they're slightly more comfortable than many summer tyres.

Here another example why we don’t need winter or all season tyres in the UK.
Just drive your car over the new type co2 saving asphalt and your tyres from summer will turn into a Nordic studded winter tyres 😂🫢 Honestly I haven’t seen any worse new surface than this one. And the stones sticks to the tyres  quite well because even after a 20+ miles on the motorway I still had dozens of these attached. They could off set the balance too. 🤔

why most new things are way worse than before?!

Bahh you just need to drift it round some corners, it rubs the stones right off! :naughty:   *

*Disclaimer: This is a joke - Do not attempt this; All Toyota hybrids are primarily front wheel drive and you can't drift them. Attempts to do so will just get you uncomfortably acquainted with a nearby tree/wall/ditch/other hazard

Anyone any experience with Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 on the Corolla? The reviews on line are very favourable.

Hi,

yes they are efficient grip performance 2.
Probably some of the best summer touring tyres and my favourite ones 👌

My dad had the Hankook’s as you have asked and they were really good too, but the Goodyear egp 2 are better.

Just a reminder.
August is a good time to buy a new tyres. Because the demand is at its lowest and seems there are good offers and discounts from most retailers.
Blackcircles, ATS, Asda tyres, Costco, Mytyres, everyone is offering something. 👌

The Hankooks are all season so maybe not comparable to the Goodyear??????

Yes that’s right, sorry my bad.
All season not comparable to the summer Goodyear, perhaps to all season Goodyear. 👍

Few words for the recently installed GoodYear egp 2, compared to the stock Continentals 205/55/16 91v. Done around 600 miles

Definitely quieter, more comfortable, feel somehow more predictive, the fuel economy is so far the same. What really impresses me is the handling in corners and roundabouts - those tyres feel much safer in long corners ( those junctions when you get off from a motorway ) and I feel I can go faster on places, where with the Continentals I would have to slow down. Haven't had the need to test them in emergency braking yet, but I am very calm driver and always keep some good distance from the car in front ( not the case with the car behind most of the time )

If they really last over 60k miles, and hopefully they won't get noisier over time, they should the perfect tyres for my driving

Nothing negative yet

I really like the GY EGP2s, after 4,000 miles they have worn less than half a millimetre. Unfortunately I got a puncture the other day which meant a new one - at £95 fitted, could have been worse.
