Corolla 2.0L Touring Sport Excel delivery

On the 1st September 2021 I paid a deposit for a new Corolla T/Sport 2.0L Excel for delivery mid December. The quoted delivery then moved to end if December, then early January, now I am quoted end of January. I was initially told Toyota normally deliver cars within +/-5% of their estimated delivery date? How is everyone else getting along with their estimated delivery dates?

Hopefully it hasn't been built yet so you may get lucky & end up with a 22 MY Corolla instead.

I had the same experience back in 2019 without Toyota having the excuse of Covid, Brexit, supply chains, chip shortages, etc. I was originally promised late November / Early December 2019 and took delivery right at the end of January 2020. Back then they only built the cars a week or two before delivery. Unless they've started building cars that they can't finish until the last few chips arrive you should be pretty sure of getting the 2022 model.

Does year of registration affect second hand values nowadays or do people now only care about the model year and registration plate?

I suppose a 2022 model is an additional selling point?

Just had my Corolla TS Excel delivered to me this week but it's the 1.8l which don't really have a delay.

Ordered it in August & had it now in November but my wife's car Yaris Dynamic been delayed again from October to November then to January the. February now to March. But like i told her it will be a 2022 model plus no price increase as I've been told that next year there will be on new cars.
