P1010571.JPG

I own a Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1995, Bz-v, 4age 20v, 1.6 Blacktop, VVT.

fairly happy with it, if i convert it over to pounds i paid 3000 Pound for it... with 115,000km's on the clock (71426.5 Miles). shes fairly good on petrol, pulls very well at 5,000 rpm and above, (redline at 8,000), and is a good very attractive all around toyota! (YAY!!!).

also, performance, anyone done any mods to theirs? ive only got mags, zost etc, nothing to fancy, maybe some headers soon or a good cai. what have the rest of you all done?

Hi Cozmo,

I also noticed that there are not many posts for Levin/Trueno here.

I recently bought my first Toyota Levin although I am Nissan Silvia lover, but I didn't regret it. My Levin is a 1999 AE111 BZ-G with 4A-GE 20V black top engine and A/T ECTS. It's a second hand from Japan market with 45000km only and it costs me Euro 10500. But it looks like brand new. Rear spoiler is higher than yours and also has 2 round spotlights on the front spoiler. Wheels are stock Toyota 14'.

It has no mods. Interior is perfect with leather steering wheel and Toyota cd changer. Equiped with ABS, SRS, e/l windows and mirrors, power steering, central locking, climate control airconditioning.

I think I have started falling in love with her.

I have ordered a Levin, a cutted one. :D It´s on it´s way from Japan to Germany to the moment ( I hope so...). The engine (4A-GZE) will move into my MR2.

Regards, Eric

seems foggies were *half half* when it came to levins and truenos, some had em, some didnt, i got stuck with one that didnt (no biggie, ill put some aftermarket ones with moulds from a levin that had them).

http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/5440/ is a bit of info on your car (thats a 98, not a 99), seems no 99 got onto that site.

i was planning a piston kit, up it to 12:1 compression, until i noticed something... fuel... our highest ocatne is 96... which is REALLY american 93 or something stupid.... so until we get REAL 98 octane fuel, my car wouldnt even go any quicker with higher compression X_X damnit!

gonna repair the wheel bearing this comming wednesday (just a replacement), shes making funny noises but still handles well.

i love her to bits i must say, now... to make her perfect ;).

oh and one more thing, you have any idea where to get those *round* tail lights? ill find a picture of them if i can...

mine has stock round tail lights. It reminds Skyline tail lights.

Also has sensors on front and rear bumper for parking signal, and I think is equiped with super strut suspension.

By the look at the photo your Levin must be AE101.

Further to the site you mentioned and I am very familiar with, where we can find some decent formal informations about Levins/Truenos?

those round ones are random, they just came out on random veichales it seems....

ive seen them on bz-v bz-g bz-r and xv or wuteva they are.

also seen the ones i have.... quite weird

i dont hae parking sensors... thats probably because of your country (may have been equiped), i dont know of any imports over here with those.

yeh, super strut, i looked into that, its basically a dogs breakfast from what i know, which i acnt say is realy that much on the topic, but after talking to trd, they are useless to anyone wishing performance from these veichals. better handeling you need trd shocks and lowering springs, which i plan on buying :P, better than superstrut yay!

no way mine is an ae101!, its an AE111, i can go take a pic of the chassie number if you want.

i dont know any other locations, nor many people who mod them, im really interested in them (obviously) but anything to do with trueno or levin is associated with ae86...

P1010578.JPG

how is that an ae101?

btw, http://bidforpower.orcon.net.nz/Trueno/ more fotos of my car

AE101 is a previous levin model produced from 91 to 95. Yours is defnitly AE111.

Here in Cyprus we can import second hand cars from Japan as we have the same driving system - RHD. So every car has different specs and you can not find 2 Levins with same specs!

yeh, we have right hand drive over here too... damn left hand drive!!!

(can you tell from the car :P)

my country is def a jap land... every jap model car you can think of, you can buy here... euro models are a little harder to come by, but you can get em.

we only make 1 of our own cars here... i think its kia? i duno if its even Nz that makes them though.

Fixing my wheel bearing on this comming wednesday... should be good ^_^ no more noise... and if it keeps going... ill buy 3 more bearings and put them in, BAHA! ill hae to get rid of it one way or another!

i have a GT Corolla 4age 20valve black top vvt. But its automatic, i have a power buton and manual button near the hand brakes. I have no idea what these buttons do. Any knows? I recently tried runnning the car with the power button down and the car shifted gears at 8000 rpm(start of red line) rather than 7000rpm when the button is off, so it is possible thats what the power button is for. But i need someone to clarify this for me, as well what de hell de manual button is for? Can i also get some of your quater mile times please? My friend with his GT Sprinter ran 16.3 s .

power button is definitly for sport driving and sure not for good millage. Manual is more or less like manual gearbox. For normal driving and better millage you have to dipress both buttons so there will be no indication on you dush. And of course after 70 - 80 km/h you have to press the o/d button (ovedrive)

toyota has this in most cars.

PWR (power button), is the agressive auto, dont drive like this all the time, will hurt the tranny over VERY long extended amounts of time.

made for going fast, and getting power :D, it changes faster than standrard, also will change at highest possible revs, changes down at higher revs too (to keep revs up), more the sporty tranny.

MANU (manu button), lock gear button, usually for long journeys, chuck her into over drive, hit this little buton, let off the gas a little so the auto cluch can lock in place, good for gas milage..., other than that its ****, also for going up hills, lock it in 2nd and hoof it :P right up to 8k revs then drop the button off again... or drive up at 7k revs etc

but then again... get a manual :P its so much fun'er

yay for blacktop! long live blacktop! hoo
