UK Charger Recommendations

I only use a granny cable, if I have no power on the cable it can be disconnected with power the lock operates. If I unlock the car the cable can be released. Obviously I only use the MyT app so your bright new charger’s app maybe has some additional functionality.
I’d assumed that as a fail safe the car being unlocked would allow the release of the cable so as to prevent problems if the phone/app was not available?

I think I understand now. The app lock only stops the charger from providing power. The plug behaves the same way as yours, yes, unlocking the car will release the lock.

My granny lead was always connected to the mains so I didn't realise it had to have power on to lock it to the vehicle before. Read it as my charger works exactly the same as yours if you have it switched off.
