Well oddly enough as I finished making my last post the dealer called and my car is with them and do I want to collect this week-end.....I have the premium pack and my pano roof...all I need now is my finance agreement email to open properly and I can complete the deal....17 months...worth the wait I hope. He also asked about a ceramic treatment??....any opinions please and idea of cost?

Dealer supplied paint coatings are a rip off. Shop around the internet for prices and if you must have it, use that to negotiate. Same as dealer Gap insurance. The mark up is ridiculous.

What has been the price change between order and now? Are they honouring the initial interest rate? are they honouring the price? I want to be fully clued up before I go see my dealer next week. They've been VERY hazy about the details.

In my experience, dealers usually do not prep the cars and apply paint protection correctly, it is all about do it as quick as possible. I was offered paint protection on a 4 year old car for £300 (from Toyota dealer), when I asked will they tend to all paint chips, strip old protection and do the paint correction before applying ceramic coating, the answer was no, we will just apply it on top. A friend of mine used a ceramic coating specialist and it took two days to prep and apply on a brand new Ford Kuga.

Had a notification at 6am in the MYT app this morning that the car was up the road from the dealership. Went along on my way from dropping my partner from work and....

Dealership said no car till next Friday, wonder if they wanted to use it for test drives till then as its the first 2023 in this spec they've had in. Either way I called their bluff and I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to sort out the paperwork.

490 days since order as of tomorrow. 24 Dec 2021.

A week between the car arriving at the dealership and handover seems fairly typical. You'll note from your photo that the car is still in transit wraps and unregistered. The dealer will need to book the car into the workshop for PDI and preparation for handover as well as adding any dealer fit accessories that you may have ordered. And it is normal for the finance paperwork, if any, to be completed a week before handover.

Enjoy your new car - 497 days does seem like quite a lot of anticipation! 🙂

Agreed but I was told the car was being delivered to them next Friday, pickup a week after that. I fully expect pickup to be next week now.

AFAIK the 0% rate and the very good price I negotiated way back in 2021 are being honoured. He sent me the finance details last night but, there was a glitch on the e-sign documents so, I'm awaiting a new link. I have not been told anything different and so I see no reason why things should not be exactly the same. Mind you, I did elicit a price and interest rate promise from them when I initially made the order. I have also received 2 price promises over the past months to confirm this.

I had paint protection applied when I bought mine last year. With the benefit of hindsight I wish I had not wasted the money. It was badly applied by the "detailer" (it's on the glass) and I really don't see that much benefit anyway. Had I to choose again I would decline the offer and seek a professional application.

I have now completed my finance documents and it is exactly as I expected, I'm one very happy bunny (well as regards the finance, let's hope the car lives up to expectations)

Did you not have to pay any extra for the new 2023 features? Like the infotainment screen size increase? etc?

Mines been upfront that I "might" have to pay for those but I've not been told anything concrete about price changes.

No I didn't...I received a print out from Toyota systems that stated my car was a no cost upgrade.

Would it be possible for you to send me a screenshot of it? With personal details redacted of course? Want to be armed when I go to the dealership. I've got this horrible fear they will pull the rug from under me!

Well, some very good news.  My car arrived with my dealer yesterday and is now scheduled for hand-over on Wednesday - just 435 days from signing the original order!

I don't see why not, it's only a little thing, a screen shot from my dealer in fact. I just walked in from collecting my car, 250 round trip and 48mpg so quite happy atm.

Aye, but you've done well to keep the 0%, new deals are like 6 to 8% these days.  And you might get lighted door switches instead of having to fit hokey Chinese units like us poor sods 🤣

Well not an internal light in sight except the overheads, sort of expected some ambient lighting but also nothing....perhaps is just a female thing!!

Still waiting to hear about details about mine. The bank holiday weekend has caused some delays at my dealership!

Are you enjoying it? How's about a picture!

I'm sure everything will be okay. Loving the car, great light cabin, especially with the pano roof.

I was wrong about it not having illuminated door switches etc....can't imagine what I was doing at the time, certainly not paying attention that's for sure!

Couple of photos here, I'm under strict orders not to put my personal plates on until I'm absolutely sure I love it!!

Me to....it's an Excel with grey interior...but we were told on collection that both the paintwork and upholstery colour are being discontinued.

My dealership is blaming the bank holiday weekends for delays. Theyve only just taken the car in for checks and valeting, saying that paperwork from Toyota Finance will be through anyday now. Pickup next Monday.

However. I'm away for two weeks on Monday so they are going to have to wait for me to get back to complete the sale. They've had 5 days so far to sort it out. I have absolutely no faith in my dealership.

Still waiting!

Some good news! Pickup is tomorrow. Dealership is honouring the original price but the interest rate was put up to 4% up from the 2.9% it was originally. Not really going to moan given that the car comes with new features, better infotainment etc for £35k.

Well chuffed. Will post photos tomorrow.
