I aiming to get a new RAV4 Dyanamic Premium plug in May 2022.   Do Toyota recommend any particular home charger.  I know I can plug it into a normal sock but wondered about having a home charger installed, any info appreciated, thanks.

The question has been asked recently here:

It probably won't give any useful answers but the topic has already been discussed ... 😉

There is a wide range of options and the problem of obtaining the UK grant has been discussed. The key question is do you think you want to charge quicker than using the supplied 240v 10A ‘granny cable’ This will charge in around 7.5 hours so if you are happy to leave it to charge over night maybe save your fast charger money and pay for extra charges. The fast charger will charge in round 2.5 hours, cable also supplied.

The are many discussions on here elsewhere. You can use any charger with a tethered type 2 plug or untethered with a type 2 socket that accepts the cable that comes with the car. As others have said, if you have or can get access to a 3 pin socket you can charge from that, albeit a bit slower. There is no point getting anything more than 7kw as the car can't benefit from anything faster (and you:d need a 3 phase supply)

Toyota have their own installation programme but is limited to 3 charger models. Look on the Toyota website or search for Toyota EV Charger. However, it's basically British Gas branded as Toyota.

Recommendations from users is difficult because as has been discussed, the RAV4 has been included on the list of vehicles eligible for the government grant of £350 which has put many off getting a charger installed and the 3 pin charger has sufficed.

I've don't a fair bit of research and decided to get a Hypervolt 2.0 fitted next week. It reads well and a few installers I've spoken to speak highly of it but I obviously haven't got it yet so can't give a personal recommendation yet. When I've used it for a while I'll write a short review on here.

Install an outside 13 amp 3 pin socket, Save your money and use it to buy electricity with instead. Even after subsidy what will it cost? £3/500? That buys a lot of EV miles.

Exactly what I did, weatherproof and with its own lightening and fault protection, Masterplug.
