Toyota IQ Bluetooth System

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well. When i purchased my IQ a while back it came with a bluetooth system that had already been fitted. Its good and works well for me, but there's just one issue with it. The only way i can skip the songs/control the volume is by my phone and obviously thats not safe while driving. I cannot turn the volume down by the steering wheel like you can when your listening to radio stations. I have inserted a picture of the same one that i have (its not my image as i am at work so cannot get one of mine) but is the exact same system.

If anyone has any recommendations on why it doesn't work by the steering wheel?

PS. i have tried pressing the buttons on the bluetooth system but they do not do anything apart from pause the music.

It's a standalone system handsfree kit also known as SOT (Sound On Top) it wired directly into the Speakers
