Yes I agree, very understated. I did check it with a window open but wasn't much better. Just ordered a couple of PIAA dual tone horns, I had a quick look at the fitted one and it's easy to get at for replacement.

For me, it's the most disappointing part of the car. I really like the 'Clown's Car' description, fits the horn perfectly. Surely Toyota could come up with something better than that.

It'll never happen - It's a cultural thing; The Japanese are a fundamentally very polite culture, so they don't like obnoxious horns.

You'll tend to get the more aggressive horns from german, chinese and american cars!

To tell truth, I almost never use the horn, and especially so when there are pedestrians around, unless I have no other option. So many drivers use them to insult other drivers, and to say " get out of my f-censored-ck-ing way". Many is the time, as I have SCREAMED at drivers in the cars when they do that when I am near enough (Yes, I know very well old men shouldn't do that, you never know when you'll come across somebody who is crazier than you are).

I used mine for the first time when someone decided to cut into my lane without looking at the weekend..... i burst out laughing when i heard it. Maybe its designed to prevent road rage by making you laugh 😁
