2014 T27 2.0 D4D Front Brake Caliper Carriers

Hi, I'm looking to get the front brake caliper carriers replaced, they have the usual knocking below 40 mph on uneven surfaces.

I've tried new pins and greasing them up, but the noise reappears after approx 2k miles.

Toyota wouldn't replace them under warranty, they just fitted new pins and fobbed me off.

Any recommendations of dealers that price these reasonably, or any aftermarket suppliers that have these for sale?

Any help appreciated.

that the caliper brackets you are talking about why do they knock are they just like holders shouldn't move that much are they expensive to buy i cant see them been to hard to change i have a 2014 t27 toyota avensis i hear no problems with mine dose these give bother like that how many miles on your car .tbh on mine im thinking of  giving it a complete egr and manifold clean out i dont have no problems but just encase gives bother later

They knock due to internal wear by the slider pins. The pins are a harder metal.

Mine started knocking around 60 to 70k. A 62 plate T27 one I had started at a similar mileage too.

They are easy to change, just an eye-watering £130 plus vat a side. You have to take them off to swap the disks.

The EGR clean isn't too difficult, I do mine around each 15k, but have never fully removed the manifold though.

o thats interesting the way they do that what would happen if u fill the slider holes with grease would that help any. i never had that bother with my last 1.9tdi like that. is it possible to get bigger pins. aye egr i guess with these toyotas and this dam dpf i we have to clean out the egr and manifold. another thing the 1.9tdi had was better i had vagcom and well i went into egr settings and turned them down to nothing but dont think can do that to this toyota with this dpf as will block quicker

I have tried the greasing way, they stay quiet for about 2000 miles ish and then the knocking comes back again.

One potential method would be to drill and sleeve the holes to tighten the tolerances back up, but there isn't much material around the area.

I think the software on this model doesn't like the EGR valve being modified/deleted and yes it will lead to the DPF blocking up earlier than without the mods.
