Smart entry/start

Hello has anyone ever had the problem of the car suddenly stop receiving the keys it will start but will not smart entry or smart start

Basically i could hear a strange alarm sound for a hour so more like a home alarm than a car so curiosity got the better of me and went outside to look where it was coming from.Turns out it was my car tried the key nothing opened the car with emergency key normal alarm went off didn't know how to stop it so just disconnected the Battery that stopped it but the strange alarm continued for a few minutes it was late so locked it up next day noticed fuel flap ajar could this have caused the alarm it sound as if it was from the rear but why would my key not work I have changed battery's in both fobs but still no joy Any ideas please

Just an update seems to be that the sensors in the doors are turned off ossolaters seem to be working fine persume the remote start is on the same system as the doors would anybody know how to reactivate this or why/how it's turned it's self off thanks

Seems to be working now junction box in drivers footwell behind the cover by the accelerator pedal was the culprit just a bad connection not sure exactly which plug it was as cleaned a few but the very top one gave me a bong on the dash as I unplugged it hopefully this will help someone else out there simple fix just took a long time to find
