Shock Absorbers and stabiliser links original v others

Hello Considering changing the shocks on mine as the road surface and pot holes has not been kind. Anyone got or had good experience with alternatives as the ride on the originals has always been a  bit firm. I am unsure who makes the original Toyota ones for them.

Best to stick to oem parts as much as possible, for best quality and reliability after repair. Some good names for shocks are KYB, SACHS, BILSTEIN, for bushings and links for the stabiliser bar good quality aftermarket can do it too, Blueprint should be your first call after oem ones, First line, these are good quality. 👍 Make sure you really need to change any of these before going ahead as sometime they may seems like worn out but actually they are not. 👍

KYB shocks, Moog drop links are cost affective, ride wise if you have the larger wheels with a smaller side wall it can make the ride harsh

I've put Bilstein shocks on my Auris. Yes, the ride became clearly harsher, but on a nice road at higher speeds the increase in stability is tremendous. Remember these cars have no multilink suspension... You may put on some Sachs, their ride is nice and comfy, but on a car without multilink suspension, stability on fast cornering may not be as good.

As for drop links, I bought Blueprint, but the boots are too weak and one of them already has a boot torn, only one year after... I may try Lemforder next. Original Toyota ones are really expensive... At least where I live.

I do like the Bilsteins. Cornering vastly improved comparing to my old and weakened original shocks.
