Avensis steering wheel symbol

  Hi all, I have a 2003 Toyota Avensis T25 1.8 petrol which I am more than happy with.In line with Toyota`s build quality everything on this car works,which

considering the age of the vehicle,is quite amazing.I have only one niggling little problem,the symbol on the right hand of the steering wheel.For the life of me I can`t find out what it means(Google comes up with nothing,even Google Lens) On pressing it you can toggle through the display on the dashboard,but what does the little face with the sound waves coming out of it mean.Does it imply some sort of connectivity with a phone or some other piece of equipment? Maybe connect when pressed?Is it a manufacturers option not included with my vehicle and just a production line standard?I don`t know,and it`s been driving me mad for nearly four years!!!Does anyone have any idea what this elusive little symbol stands for,as I would much appreciate someone enlightening me as to it`s function.I`ve tried the workshop manual,no mention of it.I can`t find an owners manual at a reasonable price and I`m not willing to buy one on the off chance that it`s mentioned. As I said,it`s driving me nuts and it`s staring me in the face every time I get into the car! Please,please,please someone help me and put an old man out of his misery!  Nick.(sorry for the scrappy look of the text on this post as I hav`nt got the hang of this yet!)

This is for the "Speech Command System"

 

Copied from my manual:

The speech command system enables the radio, phone dialing, etc. to be operated using speech commands.

Hi,Thanks for the reply,that is more than I have found out in four years! At least now that I know what it is I can play around with it and see if I can fathom out how it works. The button is well used so I guess by what you`ve said it must be a piece of equipment that previous drivers used a lot.  Thanks again  Nick.

hello do anyone know much about that speech button i have a 2014 toyota avensis business edt which has this and this dont work saying it dont work  when i push it it comes up not supported or something i forget
