Not sure that you can turn it off Michael, it’s a safety and could possibly be compulsory. Others with more certain knowledge of the laws may chime in and confirm.

.Hi Michael, welcome ro TOC, may you be on this forum a long time.

How long have you had the car?  It doesnt matter how long, its a chime once per every journey.

Think of the day when there is no chime and you forget to put the seat belt on.........akip forward a few hours and there is a knock on your front door, but you dont hear it, it is apolice officer come to tell your family there has been a serious accident. You didnt her the knock on your door, you were lying in a mortuary.

Doesnt matter how long you had the car, the chime is there for a reason.  Its a once per journey chime, if thats the only thing troubling you in life today you must be wrapped up in cotton wool with dark glasses and ear plugs and never go out, read a paper or watch tv..

I have never done a welcoming note like this before!

My sentiments were expressed in more diplomatic language Joe, and mean the exact same thing as you have said in your post 👏

To be honest, really honest.., it has crossed my mind more than once to find that chime and "retire it, permanently"   chimes when a door is open chimes when a seat belt is undone ... for gods sake we are not 8 years old!

but hey, everyone has a perspective, lol 🙂

yep tbh i dont know where that chime is im half wondering do they play it threw the car Speakers also. as what you have said finding that buzzer chime would be great but not sure where itm is located tbh its not as bad now since i turned the seat belt one off but the car door or other ones there not so bad. im thinking its the same chime or box that clicks with the indicators as well im guessing .think boss im not far from you either michael if you want to put my techstream on it

Well done Frosty I wasn’t completely sure that it was a legal requirement or not. So that’s the best answer to the original poster’s query.
