Avensis verso d4d performance problem

Has anybody ever got to the bottom of the d4d loss of power/boost at around 2/3000 rpm seems a common fault and have read many discussions on it over the years but no resolution?have owned a 2002 for around 10 years it's been parked up at the back of the garage for around 4 years after trying everything to cure the acceleration problem,new turbo,new scv valves MAF sensor egr fuel filters new cat and turbo solenoid all to no availe,forgot about it and called it a day untill today when I fitted a new Battery and car started first turn of the key!and drives A1 except no boost on acceleration,car revs fine at idle and turbo actuator seams free and moving when reving?as already mentioned I've read this exact fault on forums over the years but never a fix and to be honest it's bugging me its got to be something stupidly simple,but I'm at a loss so here I am "help"
