hatch door autolock

At approx 15mph the rear hatch door autolock, I have to use the open button on the key to open it. Can this be turned off so that it doesn't lock while driving.

I know that the later T27 models can be activated/deactivated, as detailed in the owners manual. If you have the owners manual for your T25, check to see if the subject is covered. For the T27 models, 'automatic door locking and unlocking systems' is covered under chapter 1-2. Opening, closing and locking the doors. If Toyota are consistent, the earlier T25 manual may be similar. 
Your issue is different because the hatch locks, but hopefully what I mentioned above might cover your problem, so long as you have the owners manual and you can decipher the information.

I have an avensis t3-x 2007 model Hatchdoor. Is the autolocking function I'm mentioning the double lock system by any chance.

Could be advantageous having an auto locking boot. Stops thieves getting access to your load area whilst stationary at traffic lights etc.              

I wish my car had auto locking of all doors for the same reason.  Many women (and some men) have had theeir handbags pinched whilst stationary, but not if all doors were locked.
