Had my Corolla serviced yesterday and I also pointed out that the offside washer jet was producing a very weak spray. Technician put an air line through and said that the jet nozzle was ok but suspects the 3 way valve may have a blockage. Service adviser says it should be a warranty job and has order a new part. If it isn't a warranty job the 'part' will cost £61 to replace. Looking on eBay a 3 way valve costs less than £10 so where is this £61 coming from I ask myself. Hopefully it will be under warranty and the service chap said it's only a 5 minute job when I return to get it fixed. I will ask to see the faulty 'part' if they charge me. Comments most welcome.

Ever heard of that as routine maintenance?

Problems start if they say the blockage was your fault because of unapproved screen wash liquid.

If we leave jokes on the side screen wash can be a nasty liquids especially those cheap supermarket ones. Been using Asda previously and once I noticed disgusting smell like old cheese or fungi, then I realised was coming from outside when I wash the windscreen, when I stopped the car I went to the Wiper Blades and put my head down and I was about to die. I pumped out all fluid, washed with water and vinegar mixture and bought some quality stuff , more expensive. Here what I use on regular basis in winter https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoglym-500ml-Ultimate-Screenwash/dp/B0011DY91G/ref=sr_1_8?crid=CBIPH1A79W1R&keywords=german%2Bscreenwash&qid=1643221444&sprefix=Screen%2Bwash%2Bgerm%2Caps%2C1157&sr=8-8&th=1

Summer time I use the same one or these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Holts-HSCW0003A-Screen-125ml-Concentrate/dp/B07R74PZFH/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=screen+wash+holts&qid=1643221654&sr=8-7

both very good stuff. There was last year some German brand available concentrate blue in 1ltr bottle but can’t find it now. 👍

I have been using Carplan All Season Concentrate for many years and have not had a problem with it what so ever. So I find it odd that it may have clogged the washer system on my corolla. Have not heard from dealer yet so will be interesting to see if I get a result in my favour regarding the warranty on this rather grey area. I don't get any nasty smells from using Carplan. Will see what Toyota have to say in due course.
