Hi all does this looks like my clutch is slipping. Everyone tells me yes it is.

But is there something else I can do cheaper than change clutch first to rule it out??

Also I note from youtube that I must also change the flywheel bolt and release bearing alongside the clutch kit. Is there anything Else I should know to change?

I aslo guage it will cost somewhere between 400-500? Is that about right??

Thank you in advance.

Yeah looks exactly how mine did on my Yaris, not much you can do other than replace.

the base cost of replacing via Toyota is around £1000, it can be done cheaper elsewhere, but because of the time it takes, you are still looking at the higher end of costs.

Sounds like clutch slip.

On a steep hill, when doing a start from stationary, what happens?

How many miles has the car done, at what mileage was the clutch last changed (if ever).

Three parts to change, all equally as important to change, because if you don’t and a component fails that you couldn’t be bothered to change, it will cost you the big labour bill all over again.  1) pressure plate, 2) clutch friction plate, 3) thrust bearing.  The longer a worn clutch is used in a car you may damage the flywheel as well - extra cost through stupidity.

@Catlover Thanks mate. I need to try the stationary steep hill one. The only time it doesn't do this is in 1st gear in all other gears it whooshes and accelerating is sluggish as the revs drop despite putting my foot down. But 1st gear seems fine.

Its on 99k

So I found this to match my car specs https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/aisin-303589.html

Clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing. I'm assuming the clutch disc is the same as clutch friction plate that you mentioned.

yes, that 3 part clutch kit is what you need, don’t buy cheap, spend wisely. That’s not knocking that kit, I not conversant with Aison, they may well be good.
your videos indicate to me clutch is slipping. Usually best trying going up an incline in, say, 4th, put foot down, revs increase but car doesn’t move correspondingly, or doesn’t move as it used to a few months ago.

Any good garage should be able to do that job, it’s a bread & butter job.

Aisin makes Toyota's automatic gearboxes and Toyota themselves hold a majority share in the company. So that's probably an OEM kit, assuming it's genuine.
