Yaris Cross Sonar Controller fault

Vehicle kept raising the parking assist warning.
Have been told by the dealer it requires a new Sonar Controller. Have no idea how long it will take to get one of these, just glad I am not paying for it.
Has anybody else experienced similar issues, or am I just unlucky.

Delivery Nov 2021, mileage 1,500

It's just one of those things - electronics, it either will break in the first year or will out last the car - there are not many crosses out in the wild yet -  Major issues with the mk4 yaris are the DCM faults and flywheel damper plate - it's a fairly new platform with a new engine and newer HSD, so It's had some teething problems

Can you share your sources for those DCM Faults and flywheel stuff?

What a strange thing.   Every country has its own specific problems.

In Italy we've mainly GPF and EGR cooler issues.  I've never heard of someone complaing about flywheel damper issues on new Yaris.  Here I'm reading about 2 or 3 cases. The cars and the engines are all coming from same factories.

GPF issue ( by the way GPF is a big suspect but there's no smoking gun proof ) causes an excess of ICE use with car that refuses to switch to EV even with 8 tabs of SOC and ICE always running high like as your're driving in first gear with a manual gear car.

Obvously the fuel consumption grows and the EV use percentage factor drops.  Someone has reported the issue, Toyota technicians have installed a special data monitor device on some volounteers car but, after one year, still no fix or feedback.

Considering that also some Cross users started complaining about this behaviour, it means that Toyota has not applied any corrective action also on new manufactured cars.

The issue happens mainly with wet and moderate cold ( 3-8 C ) climate.  Accelerating full scale and releasing 2 or 3 times with warm engne usually solves the issue for the next 200-300 Km.

Considering the weather conditions that can trigger the issue I find really strange that nobody that lives in other North Europe countries ( where climate is usually colder than Italy's one ) is complaining about this behavior.
