Aygo hydraulic clutch kit

Did anybody ever hear about a change from cable driven clutch to a hydraulic one ?

Can it be done ? Is there a kit to do so ? Any idea of the cost ?

I think it would make driving the car more nice and comfortable.

By the way , just found this terrific clear movie on how to adjust clutch.

No idea if the cable is still as reachable on the 2021 Aygo but I am surely going to find out.

Nope, it was never designed to use a hydraulic clutch, the clutch pedals are completely different, the firewall has mounts for the slave, 95% of modern cars use a concentric slave, the gearbox isn't setup for it

The clutch cable in the mk2 Aygo is self adjusting

Ah ... Didn't know there was a difference between MK1 and MK2 for that.
Good to know then.

I still hate to drive it a bit when the engine is cold. After a while it gets better though 🙂
Will have to get used to it one day.

With a cable system, you're disengaging the clutch by converting a pushing motion into pulling and then back to pushing. A modern hydraulic solution does away with all that and the pedal pushes against the clutch directly (via the hydraulics, of course). Because of this, hydraulic tends to be a little lighter and smoother, but I wouldn't say there's any advantage in terms of finesse. It's a matter of opinion and, of course depends on the particular vehicle and design. Not all hydraulic systems are pleasant to use, they too can be stiff and/or heavy, especially as wear & tear begins to take it's toll.

With self adjusting clutches, I know the type in hydraulic systems.

But with cables...

I saw the parts on photo .... Ok. It is a different part.

Can't find any explanation on the self regulating capacity of the current clutch model though.

Are you sure ?

Dne 28. 1. 2022 v 19:41, flash22 řekl:

Lanko spojky v mk2 Aygo se samonastavuje

Jak jsi zjistil jak? Systém ovládání a nastavení spojky je u všech typů Aygo stále stejný.

Dusan says the system is still the same, unchanged.

That's what I thought too and what was said here before.

The cable itself, as a part, is not self regulating if I see it.

Maybe flash22, who seems to know this car well though, made a mistake ?

If it's manually adjusted, the gearbox end of the cable will attach using a long threaded rod. This is where the adjustment is performed.
