Xcarlink usb/sd/mp3 adaptor switch

Hi everybody.

I know it's a long message, sorry for this, but I'm clueless.
I have an Xcarlink interface from my old wrecked Nissan. Worked like a charm.
And this is the one available for Toyota Yaris:
https://www.xcarlink.co.uk/toyota-usb-sd-mp3-interface-model-v.html
Type 1  2003 and younger.
It makes the head unit think it has a cd changer.

So I kept the Nissan-Xcarlink to built it into my Yaris 2006. I assumed I only had to buy another interface cable.
From Xcarlink I have no answer after 3 mails to support in the last 2 years...
Another seller in Germany told me I had to buy a new interface. Well. 100€...
And I hate to dump it. Tried to sell it half the price, no one.
I don't understand if the basic operation is the same that there is no possibility to make a cable to fit my old one to  fit the Yaris, or to cut the Nissan connector and fit a Yaris connector?
On my Nissan it was for:
- changing the source: FM-AM-CD-CD changer.
While in CD changer mode:
- change the folder up or down
- change the song up or down.
So for my Yaris as I can see the steering wheel buttons(mode, etc)  it's the same, or am I wrong here?

So I opened up the Xcarlink box just to look at the interface. (I'm a retired baker, no electrician).
I wrote down the connections to the Nissan connector.
Two extra cables come out of the interface:
- one red with a sticker ACC > Ignition,
- one Yellow with a sticker Power > Battery,
These I had also connected in my Nissan.

Any thoughts if this could be possible?

Thanks for the info. Ok, now I can be sure. Got the info from 2 independant sources.

Sad, I was hoping not needing to trash it and make our world better by recycling it.
