Hi there fellow rav owners, I’m (Newbie) Bob Rayner, I’ve just bought myself a 2007 Rav4 D4D. It’s seems to be a great bit of kit so far but I’m a bit disappointed it doesn’t have any Roof Bars, I’m sure I’ve seen similar age rav’s with them on, is  it possible to buy a set and if so how are they fitted( I don’t fancy drilling any holes in my car!) can anyone help with info, many thanks in advance. Bob.

Yes you can get roof rails - they fix to fittings already mounted in the roof under plastic covers ...

See here for an example: https://toyotadirectparts.co.uk/parts/toyota-rav-4/toyota-rav-4-mk-3/rav-mk-3-accessories/toyota-rav-4-2005-2012-roof-rails-black-rav4/

You can also get them in silver rather than black. Link provided as an example of what is available ...

  • 1 month later...

Just a minor related query - how do you remove the rectangulare plastic covers at the roof fixing points to fit the rails on a 2018 hybrid Rav 4?

I note that the the covers have triangular marks that either indicate the direction to fit them or remove them - but I do not want to break the covers (to allow future refitting) by pushing them too hard in the wrong direction!

Cheers, Jim
