2015 Auris hybrid problem with Internet connection

I've got a 2015 Auris and the multi media player has been working fine I got the car last March all the apps where working fine

Until Friday now I'm having trouble with bluetooth Internet connection

Calls are still working

I've changed my password on my toyota app and tried to re connect with no joy

It's a pain as I have a long drive to work each day so any help would be much appreciated

I've got an android phone it's says it's connected but keep getting message can't connect due to Internet provider

Any ideas or has anyone else had the same issues?

Who is your provider?

I'm with Tesco, who re-sell O2. Mine won't connect either. But I understand the Tesco service doesn't permit a feature whereby you can do phone stuff by wifi and internet and I wonder if this also means they block the internet connection.

Have you filled in the APN setting your provider gives you?

Assuming you can access jnternet ok on the phone itself, Is any Internet service working from the car? If its an android phone, you have to turn on Internet staring by bluetooth under hotspot settings. It also defaults off if you restart the phone.

Second thing to try is a test simple password for my toyota. It will accept some non alphanumeric such as exclamation marks, but dollar sign it doesn't like. This is only an issue connecting from the headunit even if myt app and mytoyota . Try a simple password as a test.

If you cannot browse websites from the phone itself then probably need to call your service provider. There used to be some that would not allow data sharing but surprised if any still do that (virgin used to restrict it when I had my first auris and I used a mobile hotspot with a prepay and connected phone to that via WiFi then shared Internet to headunit from phone by bluetooth.

I'm with 02 and there was an update which I've now done last night I'm on android 12 now and it's still not working

The phone works fine and when it connects to the car it looks like it would work as in shows I'm connected but you can't go on any apps

I've also changed password on my toyota

And re set phone

The apn is set to 02 pay monthly I take it that's correct?

It's looking like the 02 update is the problem

I paid for 3 year map update in October with toyota so the firmware should be upto date ?

The phone would restart after an update which as above turns off bluetooth tethering. On this situation phone calls will work hands free but car won't be able to get Internet

I'll post up later if I get anywhere with 02

To auto the update turned it off

And it's now working fine

So hopefully this will help others with the same issues

I do hate it when an update changes things you already had set...but thanks for coming back and sharing what the issue was for others 👍
