Hey folks,

Glad to have found your community! I have a 1994 gray market Celica ST, ST202 with a 3S-GE engine and it’s RHD. I’ve previously owned two other Celica’s a 1990 ST while stationed at Barbers Point, Hawai’i in the US Navy. And a 1992 Celica GT, both LHD North American models. I’ve owned my current Celica for just over two years. Driving a RHD car, anywhere in North America is a really head turner. I had the local Toyota dealership to the 100k servicing, Timing belt, water pump and replace my power steering pump and flywheel with one I picked up form GT4-Play. Also had the struts and shocks replaced as well as tires.

Current project I need to do on mine is to replace the valve cover gasket (Cam Cover). I’ve got oil pooling in my spark plug wells. I just received care of the Royal Post, my engine’s manual for the 3S-GE. There is literally no written manuals for my engine available anywhere in N. America. I feel pretty comfortable doing this, the intake manifold looks like it’s going to be a really knuckle knocker to remove.

The manual shows the intake chamber as separate part from the intake manifold. It looks like the intake chamber and intake manifold are joined together by the ACIS valve. On my engine it looks like the intake chamber, ACIS, and intake manifold are all one assembly. I’m curious if I can separate the intake chamber from the intake manifold by removing the cover from the ACIS to avoid having to take the whole intake manifold off the engine?

I’m searching the forum now to see if anyone has any post about replacing the valve cover/cam cover gasket on a 3S-GE now. Glad to be a member, looking forward learning from yawl.

Cheers James (Shamus)
