Rear interior lights

My 2012 Avensis Estate had a flat Battery this morning. This happened once before so I knew the problem. The rear interior courtesy lights - which you can't see for outside because of the tinted windows - were permanently on after I left the car.  According to the manual, they should turn off after twenty minutes noi matter what, but they don't. They were accidentally switched on when we put a lot of stuff in the back, which must have pushed on the switches.

According to the book a "Toyota dealer or other  professional" may be able to customise the settings, but my Toyota dealer wants £91 to look.  I wonder if the best thing might be to just take out the bulbs, but before I do, does anyone know how to see the settings for the lights?

thanks

Bernie

I think it must be a software problem.  I found the hidden menu - well, two hidden menus - but they didn't offer any lighting adjustments. I levered out the fitting and found that I could just unplug it. Hopefully that has solved the problem, though not in a satifactory way.
