Does anyone know if changing your colour on the order, has any effect on where it is in the queue?

I've currently got a TS GR Sport in Obsidian Blue on order, but have recently seen a Manhattan Grey TS Excel on my road, and really dig the colour.

Has anyone got either the OB or the MG to compare? I'm more interested as to what the OB looks in the sunlight, as I don't really want something that basically looks black in all lights.

I can't answer your question but it is Manhattan grey for me. Next level colour, that one.

I was originally going for denim blue which I had on my auris, but then saw manhattan grey in the flesh and really liked it. In the end I went for MG bi-tone which is awesome IMHO.

I would guess your place/delivery will be impacted depending on relative popularity. It could change either way depending on number of orders or cancellations etc.

Best to check with the dealer to get a good idea.

I'm still relatively early as the queue goes, but as it's a fair way off already, I wouldn't want it to add even more on. But you're right, a visit to the dealer would be the best approach.

Manhattan Grey gang rise up! Yeah, IMO the best color right now.

For the third year running Grey was the best selling car colour according to SMMT.

Personally I’m going for silver

but I’m a sucker for beige and bronze cars (I hen the Corolla was first introduced in 2019 there was a bronze option but it’s been dropped)

manhattan grey is similar (slightly lighter) to Audi nardo grey

osbidian blue is a very refined distinguished dark metallic blue

its not navy but it’s a very nice colour

btw have you checked the ash grey or pearl white

I’ve seen the pearl white (it’s not a bright white, it’s very light grey but pearly) it really complements the gr sport.

I saw actually going to go for the bronze, until I discovered the hatch didn't really have a boot, nor the passengers needing any legs to fit behind me, other wise I'd have had that.

I'm not really a fan of white cars, but I agree with you that the contrast really works. That being said, I think all of the colours contrast really well, and would have had the red, but I've had 2 red cars back to back over the last 3 years, with the exception of my last one being bright green, so fancied a change.

I think, I'll need to see both colours in the flesh to truly decide.

I originally wanted scarlet flare but it was a 3 month wait so placed an order for denim blue then covid kicked in and there was now going to be an even longer wait ordered in February 2020 eventually got car in September.

in the meantime as I had to wait longer anyway asked dealer if I could change the colour to scarlet flare and would this be a problem no that was ok as they would send the other car back to Toyota I don’t think it would have affected the delivery time but it did affect the trade in price of the auris by £650.

Didn’t realise how ahead of the times my 1980 Triumph Dolomite was. It was mostly Manhattan Grey around the arches and sills.

Scarlet flare is another that looks really nice in bi-tone...it was my second choice after MG Bi-tone, and I think it was a bit behind in delivery.

Thank you for this! I've been looking everywhere for pics of one in GR spec in OB, and they've either been taking in the dark, or with a potato! This has re-enforced my choice, and will stick with OB! Those flakes in the paintwork, you don't see them on the samples they have in the show room.

I watched this video once or twice…!

Mine is due in April, when do you get yours?

Mine is Obsidian blue. I'm really pleased with it. Lots of metal flake in it.

Not due until Mid July, in fact on the paper work it says it'll arrive one day before my Bday.

I'd never have guessed from your name 😉.

I'll stick with the blue, that video has helped I must say

I've got the Obsidian Blue and I couldn't be happier.

I've lost count of the number of times people, even strangers, have commented on the colour!

It looks stunning in the sunshine, if you're lucky enough to get any of course. 😁

Yes, these dark blue and the black are really good looking especially on the estate Corolla. Hatchback in brighter or perhaps white for me 👌

The video looks great. And reinforces my decision to go for that colour. It’s just a shame the UK GR sports is not as well spec’d as this Continental version.

No two tone roof, no assisted boot, no JBL stereo, no panoramic roof, no heated steering wheel or heated wiper screen button. And I think we get a cloth arm rest instead of a leather one. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Never mind, I still can’t wait. 😁

I agree with you on the lack of spec, but interestingly, my order form says Obsidian Blue Two Tone. So I’m wondering if it’s either a typo, or it’s an option that’s coming back?

I did express my frustration at the time of order about them doing away with the black roof option, so I wonder if they’ve done it because of that 🤷🏻‍♂️

That video highlights the poor UK spec compared to other countries.

Would love to have all those options added, the car would be near perfect!

My order form just says Obsidian Blue. No two tone. I agree with Streethawk. If my ordered car was the same spec as the one in the video, I’d be a very happy boy. But that said, the things it’s missing are not deal breakers for me. So I’m not that bothered.

Mine just says Obsidian blue too.

Notfer - are you sure they haven’t ordered you a hatchback by mistake?!

Yeah this really bugged me at first ESPECIALLY how the 1.8 Corollas are built in the UK.

It's quite annoying really, it should be consistent across the board. Yet we pay the same price as anywhere else in the world.
