So my build is a way off yet, but I'm wondering about how the boot works - my question is for the non powered tailgate only.

Is there a button on the key to open the boot?

If yes, does this open it fully, or only ajar, so you don't have to press the physical boot button?

And finally, if it's only opens ajar, does anyone know of anywhere that sells after market gas struts for the Touring Sports?

I ask, as my last two cars have had a handsfree tailgate, and I love it, but I'm not incapable of shutting a boot, but wouldn't say no to the boot extending at the press of a button. I know a few companies do them, but I haven't seen any for the Touring Sports specifically.

Unless you've ordered Excel trim, it's just a bog standard tailgate, no remote unlock because it wouldn't gain you anything when you need to lift it anyway. It does, however, have keyless entry and locking from the tailgate, so the remote can stay in your pocket while using the boot.

I had the powered version on my last car and didn't care for it. It was slower than using a normal tailgate and I couldn't see any real benefit. Could be handy when combined with the foot sensor, I suppose, but my car didn't have that.
