Hello to all forum members. I have recently been the owner of Auris 1.6 2007, in general I am very happy with the car, but I noticed a strange symptom when shifting gears, so when I accelerate the car to, for example, about 1800 / min, I release the gas pedal and put the next gear, the engine speed increases to about 2100 / min and after a while they fall, why not immediately when I turn on the gas, they only rise first? I have not had it in any other car.

As far as I'm aware it is part of the emissions control system.

Some say emission systems, some say it makes for a better shift and easier on the synchros in the transmission box.

Mazda had even harshes revs, 300-400 more, and revved faster, but it sure made for a sweet sound when changing rpm's at 3500 or more.

For emissions, it prevents a massive negative pressure in the intake.

We call it "acceleration recuperation", and I was told it is meant to provide easier gear changes. Lots of cars have that function for many years now. It helps especially when you're taking on a slope. Makes shifts easier.
