Perhaps they still supply you with cheap Speakers, however those cheap Speakers are now setup correctly. A subwoofer plays low frequencies, door speaker plays midrange and tweeters play highs and everything wired through an OK amplifier. Even the most expensive Speakers wired directly to a head unit will not play very well because A) head unit does not produce enough power B) no way a speaker is able to play lows and midrange well simultaneously. That's why you setup a frequency cut off on the amp so that every component is responsible for their own range
