Anyone used the Toyota roof bars for the Hatchback ?? I like to take my bike with me occasionally and we may need a roof box with the poor boot space. My current car (Subaru) has the channels in the roof so the bars fit really well, I don't want anything that is going to mark the paint work. I can't see from the accessory images how they clamp. ?? I should add that my new Corolla isn't with us yet.

I used Thule roof racks but I assume the fittings will be the same.

At each door, in the roof line just out side where the door seal sits there is a little black bung that you can remove. The clamp has a little point that sits in the whole to ensure the clamps are located in the right spot.

Then(for the Thule anyway) just needed to tension the clamps to a even and snug fit.

I upgraded to a touring sport last year otherwise I would post a photo

I was able to get the dealer to throw them in for free for my TS. If you have a chance to do the same then go ahead, because it is just toyota branded Thule aero bars. If not, then Thule has even a better option of flush mounted ones where they don’t hang on the outside, and you may even chose black ones that would look great

Nope, no marks at all, it was white so would have noticed when washing.

Was a bit fiddly getting the rubber feet to sit properly though

I have to official Toyota ones I put on occasional for ladders etc. they’re a bit fiddly but I’ve had no marks so far. They have a rubber boot thing on the paint and then clamp in the door opening. There’s a rubber hole in the top of the door frame where they attach.

Does anybody know whether those roof bars (alone, without luggage) decrease fuel efficiency significantly?
