Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. Name's Dominik, from Austria and my cars are a 2008 T25 2.2 D4D and a 2000 MR-2 with some mods to it. 🙂

I hope you can help me.
My Avensis has 214000 km on its clock, and 2 things are concerning me.
1) When I drive it hard on curvy back roads, it likes to spit out some coolant via the overflow hose on the expansion tank cap.
but it does not seem to use any coolant when driving normally given that it does not spit it out. Also the coolant is clean and pink, and after driving it does not smell like exhaust in the expansion tank.
I ordered a new filler cap, to see if that fixes the problem (least expensive...)
Oh when the fluid level is on the full mark when the engine is cold it also spits out some coolant. Now it is on low, and sits there virtually forever.
I've read, that head gasket is an issue on these. When I have to rebuild it, is it really necessary/easier to pull the engine?
something to consider when doing a head gasket fix?
What are symptoms on these particular engines aside from using coolant?

2) I am not sure, whether the injectors are fine or not. Between 2000-2400 rpm it has a rattling noise, thats fully dependent on throttle (no rattle during off throttle, rattle in part throttle, and very little rattling noise furing full throttle). It sounds like diesel nailing but only as if it would be 1 or 2 injectors...
The pre-owner had the injectors pulled out, tested, and two of them were rebuild with new nozzles at 170000km.
any thoughts on that?

thanks in advance!

BR
Dom
