First time writing here so i apologise if this is in the wrong area.

I have a 2005 corrolla luna hatchback. I had problems with her last year with it being down on power, taking a couple of seconds for it to respond when trying to take off quickish, MPG was way down and idling revs were off. Also it was struggling to start sometimes especially after driving it for a bit, turning it off and starting up say about 10mins later, i would have to jab the pedal to get her to come alive.I got the throttle body cleaned and it seemed to do the trick at the time.

I had her parked up over Christmas for nearly two weeks, and when i started it up afterwards i noticed my idling revs were at 1,000-1,500 were it was around 800-900rpm and MPG were down a bit again. Then when the mechanic had it the revs dropped down but it was struggling to start again, so he tried cleaning the throttle body again and it went back to the high revs. So we changed the throttle body but it made no difference, so obviously isn't the problem.

So he's thinking it might be the PCV valve, but he's not 100% sure on that. So i rang Toyota dealer as the PCV valve new is main dealer only but i was informed by them there is two PCV valves ( which i didn't know) but one is a lot dearer than the other. So I'm just looking for advise on if the PCV valves could be the issue or any ideas of what it could be, before i commit to that money on them.

Thanks
