Hi all just looking for advise I have an Avensis Mk2 on a 2009 my rear sensors are not working properly, the used car dealer said they are not factory fit however there is a handbook for the sensors with the book pack. When I put the car in reverse they scream and do not go off but do not work correctly any advise or is it worth getting them removed and others installed

pull the wire out of the back of the sensors if there are not genuine ones the sensor should just pop out but on other hand if you can find out where the screaming is and the 3rd party module just pull out the wire out of the back of it

I want to know if factory and if they can be fixed to work correctly or if it's easier just to have them ripped out and replaced with some aftermarket sensors

The wiring loom is definitely oem, its either a faulty module. Or a faulty sensor. Toyota will diagnose which one it is if they are original, an aftermarket set of sensors and module can of course be fitted! But I'd rather have none than aftermarket.....been down that route in the past. What made the dealer think they weren't original? Post a pic of the sensors in the bumper.

They could be dealer fit rather than factory fit as dealer fit sensors are available where rear sensors aren't part of standard equipment.

I think mine are dealer fit as it's a 2009 registered Mk2 TR tourer so later than it should be I think they chucked sensors on it

Won't that cost a small fortune to diagnose and fix?
