Temperature warning light flashing

Hi 2005 estima hybrid owner wondered if anyone can help been a lovely car until  temperature warning light flashing engine will start for approx 30 seconds and then cut out because light starts flashing then the car will not turn over or start at all can anyone help where I live in the UK we are struggling to get any garage to look at it thanks spider

You need to put in diagnostic and read the codes.  The money you pay to a garage to just read the codes will be enough to get you a decent one.

I got one with screen, maybe was 15 gbp 2-3 yrs ago, definitely a good buy.

Other than that, have you checked coolant level, are there any leaks under the car?

Hi furtula, thanks for your reply I have tried a couple of code readers one would not connect the other connected but didn't seem to find anything the coolant level is good had to top up the expansion tank but the radiator was full to the brim didn't know if this was a common problem on these cars

It will need to be JOBDII compatible.

Thanks Paulscarbs yes I think both of the one's I tried are just obdll any products you could recommend that would definitely work

If you got a laptop, would be worth to buy Techstream cable. As i said i keep my cheap scanner in the car, but also got Techstream cable at home, in case the generic reader picks up nothing.

Price for the cable was also around 15 GBP when i got it i think 3 yrs ago.

Hi furtula, ok thanks will look into the cable do I need a download for the laptop sorry if I seem a bit clueless with this just not very up to speed with diagnostics tech
