Hi what is the warranty tolerance please in terms of number of days you can go past 12 months and the 10000 mileage interval. If there is a tolerance is this officially communicated anywhere. Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware the tolerance used to be 1 month or 1,000 miles, whichever occurs first. However, not sure whether the Relax warranty has changed this.

Not helped by the Mytoyota App not showing the correct information.  At 10,000 miles after my previous service it showed the next was 19,999. Having just had the service at 10,000 miles (13,400 miles) and 11 months from the previous it still shows the next is due at 19,999.

Yes pointed this out to Toyota a while ago and a known fault still not fixed

There is no tolerance apparently, this is the reply I received so whether it has changed or they are just sticking to the rules as this is on their official Toyota forum I don’t know DCBAAE29-4569-4AA3-B769-64220846317C.thumb.jpeg.54731e34363906d0f3e78e82026e1378.jpeg

Things don’t always go to plan, in my case I booked my car in online using the App. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that the dealer let me know there weren’t any loan cars available for that day so I had to rebook. I estimate I’ll be over the 10k by about 200 miles when it goes in. They did say on the phone that this won’t be an issue regarding the warranty.

Long story, my own fault to a degree. I got this car two year ago at a not so local dealer and they gave me 2 years free service in the deal. I am waiting for my new car and this car is being traded in part ex with same dealer but with long lead times for new car, getting to the dealer etc. I underestimated the mileage by time service due for my second free service. I have just managed to get it booked in at an earlier date which will hopefully  fulfil warranty requirements but this is one of the downsides when you buy not from a local dealer ie finding time around work getting there

In a word, Yes.

Take a car at 9,000 miles and about 1,000 miles a month.  You can book a month ahead.  However suppose you have some journeys to make in that month and you might easily exceed the 10k check.

My first service is logged at 3 weeks late.  Actually it was service a couple of weeks prior but only logged after the got a, replacement part in and then fitted.

Certainly if a lockdown closes the dealership.

Toyota did adopt a flexible approach during the first lockdown of 2020 when dealerships were forced to close, which meant that services due during the lockdown were delayed until dealerships were able to re-open.

Mine had its first service at 7 months, because of how much mileage I do. It's a right PITA that I can't do it annually on a regular date as I have to estimate when the next service will be due based on mileage, then find the closest school holiday before that!

When was driving a Prius as part of a large fleet we had a 1000 miles window to book in a service, therefore when the car go past 9000 miles on the daily trip meter we were booking in. I was doing 3 times per year and never been late for it, now is even easier, just lift the car up and do it myself, easy job and cheaper.
