What’s the button on rear view mirror

What’s the button on the bottom of the rear view mirror do ? 

the button presses in and out just wounded what it does. Only tried it while the engine is off only just noticed it and there’s nothing about it in the manual. 

car a is brand new my22 Corolla design

Assuming you have an auto-dimming mirror, it disables the auto-dimming function so it stays clear. (Alas what I want is the opposite! i.e. a force-dimming-on function!)

Is there a green light (obviously you need to have Ready on).

When the light is on it means the interior mirror is in automatic dipping mode, to stop glare from vehicles behind. Can’t really think of a reason to switch this feature off.

Havn’t you got that when the device is off - you have to switch it on.

Sorry, I don't quite get what you mean!

If you mean does it dim if I press the button, no, the button turns off the auto-dim so it stays clear, whereas I want a button to make it dim on command!
