Hello. My yaris o/s rear passenger door was blown while a passenger was entering and hit the lamp post. It still closes, but with force, and opens with a load sound, due to the area quite bent. I'm wondering the repair options, and approximate price range for the fix. Thanks a lot!

Sorry to hear that happened. Best to buy a new or used door and re spray if different colour. It seems the door is bent if doesn’t close properly and easy. You can try to adjust the hook on the door shut to accommodate door position after the bent but not sure if this will fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I think the bent part is just the part on the main photo. If that was straightened it would probably close properly, but as that is bent, it needs extra force to close. Would this be repairable?

Judging from your response to TonyHSD’s post it would appear that you yourself think that its repairable, to be honest it’s difficult to judge one way or the other from a photograph. The car is only three years old so it’s well worth getting it done properly.

Options are:

Find your nearest NON insurance approved body shop & ask for a repair quote.

These type of body shop work on word of mouth from previous happy customers so will strive to do a decent job as its there reputation - the local mini cab drivers will know wheres good for bodywork repairs.

Other then that find a Toyota approved body shop.

That is right on the edge iirc there are 3 layers of steel on that edge, if its repairable it still needs the door painting and blending, replacing the door means it will need blending into front door, rear 1/4 and maybe the side as its metallic

Prices vary greatly
