Guys i've got problem with turning signals!

my right side blinker stuck, doesn't turn off and doesn't blink when i put on. i've got the auto lights on, its on, its off only when im turning all lights off and seems that its connected to the lights of the car because when i turn with lever the turning signal all lights are up and off synchronized with the turning signal.

i checked the fuse, all of them and nothing can detected as burned. Tomorrow im going to check bulbs, any idea on how to fix this problem?

toyota avensis t27 2007 2.2diesel sw model.

I am not an expert, but I think there is an earthing issue. When there is poor earthing, other lights at the rear, say braking will or side will come on unexpectedly.  It cannot be the bulbs if they all illuminate. Usually when a bulb fails, the remaining indicator lights flash faster on the side the bulb fails. Go to all earthing points nd check for connection and corrosion.

ill check that as well. i saw somewhere saying about relays, but its only the 1 blinker that stays on. And when i put lever to turn right it blinks but its fade. and somehow its connected to the light of the car, they are on turning signals are on. hazard lights works normally but only the left side, the right side stays still. i've got also video of how its looks. if that helps

so im updating this again if someone got any kind of idea what im supposed to do next.

i try to go the earthing and coulndt find anything lose. i went and buy used flasher relay and try that and also didnt fix the problem.

i went to check every single bulb, not a single problem.

so i will write a bit more of the issue while hoping someone have encounter such a problem.

this avensis got automatic lights which detects the light outside and depending on that runs the daylight or all off.

when the car have all lights off the turning signal is off as well. And when i put the lever to turn the daylights and turning lights comes up, so apparently somehow both daylights and turning lights have connected.

what came to my mind is that i got attached pulling hook in the summer, can be the wiring and the wet weather have effect? its looks like its a connection problem somewhere because the turning lights fades sometimes and then comes solid still.

any idea?

This. Very likely.

Try spraying the trailer plug connections with WD40 inside and outside. See if that has any effect. If not, you will have to inspect the wiring installation.

The pins for right indicator, right tail light and brake lights are all next to each other inside the trailer plug. Might be interesting to see what is happening when you brake.

The tow hook and associated cable connections not mentioned originally. I didn't think of that, but in a way I did mention to check connection and corrosion. This extra needs checking over.

Soooooooooooo first thing first i went and bought a wd-40 and man oh man this thing worked like a charm. I spray all the connection of the pins from the hook and everything i could imagine, in the beginning the indicator were off but for longer time, this happened also before so i was thinking that heeeey this thing fixed most likely, but no, after a while came back. so i went and spray hefty amount of wd40 and more intensily to be honest.

i left the wd40 over 4-5 hours and came back to drive till supermarket and there were no problems! all looked better and i drive a bit further and all, no problem.

since here in finland we got a lot of snow, i believe that connections were dirty? or went? something like shortcut?

anyway now the problem is fixed and even if it comes back i know where is the problem. thanks for the help guys !

Pleased that you were able to find the problem using WD40. But understand that it is not a permanent fix! If it comes back, you need to go back to whoever provided your towbar, explain what happened and ask them to make a better installation. The electrics should be water resistant enough for normal weather conditions.

I don't think that dirt is the only problem, it could be that salt is used to treat your roads like it is here in the UK? Water is much better at conducting electricity when salt is added.
